عائلة فضائية ( سلسلة المجموعة الشمسية – الموضوع رقم 1 )

المجموعة الشمسية عائلة فضائية تتكون من الشمس وتسعة كواكب هي ( حسب البُعد من الشمس ) : عطارد ، الزهرة ، الأرض ، المريخ ، المشتري ، زحل ، أورانوس ، نبتون ، بلوتو. بالإضافة إلى ما يزيد عن ستين قمراً طبيعياً.

تدور حول هذه الكواكب ، عدد هائل من الكويكبات والشهب والمذنبات والغاز والغبار الكونيين والذرات المتأيِّنة ( أي المشحونة كهربائياً ) من الهيدروجين.

تتخلل هذه الأجسام الفضائية مجالات مغناطيسية وكهربائية جبارة، وتحافظ جاذبية الشمس على هذه العائلة الفضائية كوحدة واحدة ، وتشغل المجموعة الشمسية الفضاء بما يشبه الأسطوانة ، يبلغ قطرها نحو 12 ألف مليون كيلو متر ، وفي مركزها الشمس التي تحتوي على أكثر من 99% من كتلة المجموعة الشمسية بأكملها. وتتحرك المجموعة الشمسية في الفضاء ، وفي داخلها يدور كل كوكب حول الشمس في مدار بيضاوي في نفس الاتجاه ، ولكن بسرعات مختلفة ، كما يدور كل كوكب حول محوره.

يعتقد بعض علماء الفلك أنه منذ نحو 4600 مليون سنة ، تكونت المجموعة الشمسية من سديم ( سحابة كونية ) أخذ ينكمش ويتقلص وتزداد سرعته حتى انفصلت عنه حلقات غازية ثم ازدادت كثافتها ، وجعلت لنفسها مدارات في أفلاك بيضاوية حول الشمس فكانت الكواكب. أما البعض الآخر من علماء الفلك فيعتقدون أن نجماً جباراً اقترب من الشمس ، مما أدى إلى تطاير شظايا منها أدت إلى تكوين الكواكب.

ويُلاحظ أن الكواكب القريبة من الشمس ( عطارد ، الزهرة ، الأرض ، المريخ ) صغيرة الحجم إذا قورنت بالكواكب البعيدة ، ولكن كتلتها على صغرها أكثر كثافة من كتل الكواكب الكبيرة النائية ( المشتري ، زحل ، أورانوس ، نبتون ) ، أما الكوكب التاسع ( بلوتو ) فهو يشذ عن هذه القاعدة ، إذ أنه صخري . وتتميز هذه الكواكب الضخمة بوجود حلقات حولها ، ويفصل بين المجموعتين حزام الكويكبات.
